A child that understands that Mommy and Daddy have different private parts or wants to know where the baby comes out of the mother’s body is deserving a conversation. It is good for them to be curious and to feel comfortable to ask you. You may find your children or a child & friend exploring each other’s genitals. Don’t get mad, but remind them it is against the rules in regard to respecting people’s private. Get a book explaining body differences. There are so many opportunities that come into our daily lives that give us an opportunity to talk with our children about their bodies and instill in them our values on body safety and respect.
